Community Centres
A Community Centre is a safe, inclusive, and accessible space established to provide essential social services to those most in need. Operating as a single point of access, it enables individuals to receive comprehensive support in one location. In addition, the Community Centre serves as a platform for advocacy and collaboration with key stakeholders to promote sustainable community development.
Benefits of Ukrainian Red Cross Community Centres
Advocacy — Community Centres provide insight into the availability and accessibility of existing social services and help to identify gaps, enabling the Ukrainian Red Cross to effectively assess, communicate, and advocate for community needs in coordination with partners, including government bodies.
Safe Space — Community Centres offer a secure, inclusive, and accessible environment for all individuals, irrespective of age, sex, gender, ethnicity, or religion.
Single Point of Access» — Community Centres serve as hubs, bringing together the resources of Ukrainian Red Cross programmes alongside those of governmental and non-governmental service providers. This integrated approach facilitates more efficient service delivery, promotes coordinated problem-solving, and enhances the organisation’s capacity to provide holistic support to all members of the community.
Resilience — Community Centres play a vital role in building community resilience. They unite residents to enhance local capacity, prepare for future crises, participate in decision-making processes, and collaboratively implement sustainable initiatives led by the Ukrainian Red Cross.
