Over 278,000 people have received first aid training from the Ukrainian Red Cross
In the third year of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainians are not only demonstrating remarkable resilience but are also actively acquiring essential life-saving skills. Since February 2022, more than 278,000 individuals have participated in first aid training sessions organised by Ukrainian Red Cross instructors and coaches.
During these sessions, participants learn how to manage emergencies such as injuries, bleeding, heart attacks, and loss of consciousness. Special emphasis is placed on issues relevant to wartime, including burns, fractures, and explosive injuries.
“This knowledge not only gives people confidence in their actions but also provides them with a real opportunity to save lives in critical situations,” states Nadiia Yamnenko, a master trainer in first aid.
The training sessions are available to both civilians and employees of organisations operating in high-risk areas, and the programme is offered across Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Red Cross encourages everyone to participate in the training. After all, the ability to provide first aid is a vital contribution to the safety of your community and the country as a whole.
