In the third quarter of the year, seven mobile health units in the Lviv region provided medical consultations to more than 6,500 people

The mobile health units of the Ukrainian Red Cross offer free primary healthcare in remote communities. Specifically, in the Lviv region, residents of the Bibrka, Sudova Vyshnia, Khodoriv, Medenychi, Radekhiv, Strilky, and Pidkamin communities receive this assistance. During the third quarter, the specialists from these units consulted 6,574 people across 176 towns and villages in the region, including 754 children and 3,477 individuals over the age of 60.

Each unit consists of a family doctor, a nurse, and a driver who visit communities with limited access to medical services. During their visits, the specialists of the mobile health units:

  • provide consultations and health check-ups;
  • measure blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood oxygen levels;
  • prescribe treatment regimens to alleviate health conditions;
  • if necessary, issue referrals to specialised medical professionals.

The mobile health units operate in the region with the support of the Finnish Red Cross through the FinHealth+ project, which is implemented by the Lviv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross in partnership with the Austrian Red Cross.

We stand by those in need, even in the most remote corners of the region!
