Volunteers and staff of the Ukrainian Red Cross joined the World Cleanup Day international initiative
Volunteers and staff of the Ukrainian Red Cross participated in World Cleanup Day, an international initiative that unites millions of people in over 180 countries to clean up the environment and raise environmental awareness.
Participants cleaned parks, streets, and public spaces in 24 regions across Ukraine.
In Kyiv, near the Dorohozhychi metro station, activists and volunteers collected and disposed of a trailer full of garbage. Volunteers from the Shevchenkivskyi district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross also held a cardiopulmonary resuscitation masterclass, teaching local residents the basics of saving lives in emergencies.
“When I see the Ukrainian Red Cross on the ground, I feel safe,” noted Yulia, head of Let’s Do It Ukraine.
