Assistance to Those Affected by the Massive Strike on 26 August
On the morning of 26 August, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Ukraine. As a result, infrastructure, multi-storey buildings, and private residential properties were damaged, and people were injured in many regions of Ukraine.
- Kyiv region.
A critical infrastructure facility was hit. The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team, along with first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the National Police, worked at the site to address the aftermath of the strike.
Volunteers were on duty to provide first aid to emergency workers and transport residents from the towns and villages near the strike site to the hospital. Alongside the police, the volunteers secured the perimeter of the area to prevent unauthorised access. They supplied the first responders with essential assistance, including drinking water and cooling packs to prevent heatstroke.
- Poltava region.
First responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are working at the scene of the attack. The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team from the Poltava region arrived promptly to assist, providing drinking water to both emergency workers and affected individuals.
- Rivne region.
An energy infrastructure facility was struck by a missile attack. Windows in several residential buildings were shattered. The Rivne emergency response team of the Ukrainian Red Cross was on duty during the air raid, supplying water and offering psychological first aid to those in need.
