A training session on psychological first aid and psychosocial support was held for volunteers of the Chernihiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross
Nowadays, a team of volunteers constantly works with many people facing challenging life situations. Therefore, it is crucial for each volunteer to understand the basic principles of providing psychological first aid and psychosocial support techniques.
Over the course of two productive days, 13 participants from the Chernihiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross learned how to enhance their readiness to respond to emergencies, coordinate, plan, and provide psychological first aid. They also gained skills in psychological recovery and resilience. The training provided both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
This will enable the volunteers to be even more effective in supporting individuals who are under severe stress and unable to cope with its effects on their own.
