Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing Service Specialists Receive Ombudsman’s Awards
On 24 September 2026, a meeting of the Expert Council under the Representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in Khmelnytskyi region was held at the Human Rights Protection Centre in Khmelnytskyi region. During the meeting, representatives of various institutions and organisations received awards from the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, in recognition of their active cooperation and personal contributions to protecting human rights and freedoms.
Among those recognised were Nadiia Pylypchuk, Head of the Ukrainian Red Cross Khmelnytskyi Regional Branch, and Inna Koval, a specialist with the Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing Service.
Inna Koval received the award in recognition of her active work as part of the regional working groups of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War and her personal contribution to protecting human rights and freedoms.
As part of the regional working groups, Tracing Service specialists participate in meetings with families of service members who are missing under special circumstances or are in captivity. They provide information and explanations, answer families’ questions, and help facilitate communication between families and relevant government and humanitarian organisations.
This is not the first time that representatives of the Tracing Service have been recognised for this work. In 2025, Karina Aleksandrova, a specialist with the Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing Service in Zakarpattia region, also received an award from the Commissioner for her active participation in the work of the regional working group of the Coordination Headquarters and her cooperation in supporting families of service members who are missing, have died or are in captivity.
These awards recognise the work of Tracing Service specialists who engage with families on a daily basis, help them access the information and support they need, and contribute to interagency cooperation in the search for missing persons and support for their families.
