Ukrainian Red Cross joins Cherkasy Region Youth Congress

On 25 August, the Cherkasy Region Youth Congress held a one-day intensive bringing together young representatives from communities across the region. The Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross also took part.

Ukrainian Red Cross representatives shared information about opportunities for young people, including the SPRINT initiative and YABC (Youth as Agents of Behavioural Change). They also discussed psychosocial wellbeing and emotional resilience.

The Ukrainian Red Cross team held a first aid workshop, where participants practised controlling life-threatening bleeding, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), placing people in the recovery position, and providing first aid for various injuries.

Volunteers from the emergency response team demonstrated first aid techniques and shared their experience of responding to emergencies.

Young people are an important part of the Ukrainian Red Cross volunteer movement. We create opportunities for young people to develop practical skills, get involved in volunteering and lead initiatives that benefit their communities.
