The Ukrainian Red Cross hands over rail cutters to Ukrzaliznytsia to strengthen infrastructure restoration

As part of cooperation between the Ukrainian Red Cross and Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways), six rail cutters have been handed over to railway repair crews.

The new equipment will enable the crews to carry out repairs more quickly on damaged sections, reduce the time required to restore infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks, and resume train services sooner.

Railway infrastructure is essential to the country’s functioning. Its uninterrupted operation enables the transportation of people and goods and the delivery of humanitarian assistance, while supporting the resilience of communities during the war.

The Ukrainian Red Cross continues to support services and institutions whose work is vital to keeping people safe and restoring damaged infrastructure.

The equipment was provided with support from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
