From Training to First Clients: Olena’s Story Through the Reboot Programme

Not long ago, Olena was just taking her first steps in a new profession. Today, she is putting her skills into practice and earning her own income.

After being forced to relocate from the Donetsk region to the Ternopil region, Olena decided to learn a new profession that would allow her to work while still having enough time to care for her family. Before the full-scale war, she worked as a manager at an agricultural company. After relocating, however, she had to put her career on hold to care for her young child.

When she was ready to return to work, Olena chose a different career path and enrolled in a pedicure training course. During an information session in Kremenets, she learned about the opportunity to have her training costs reimbursed through the Ukrainian Red Cross Reboot programme.

Olena independently selected an accredited training provider, and after successfully completing the course, the programme reimbursed her training costs. This support is available through the programme’s Cash Condition component. Participants can choose an accredited educational institution and a vocational course that meets their needs. Upon successful completion, they are eligible to receive reimbursement of up to UAH 30,000 for their training expenses.

Today, Olena is welcoming her first clients, gaining practical experience, and growing more confident in her new profession.

The programme is implemented with the financial support of the Spanish Red Cross.
