Assistance for Pets of Internally Displaced People with the Support of Humane World for Animals

The Ukrainian Red Cross supports not only internally displaced people, but also their pets — those who have endured evacuation, loss of home and the impacts of war alongside their families.

In Kamianets-Podilskyi, the pet support programme has been implemented since 2023 and has already reached thousands of families. Over this period, more than 22 tonnes of aid and essential supplies have been distributed, including pet food, carriers, care items and other necessary products. For many families, this is critical support, as caring for animals in difficult circumstances becomes an additional challenge.

The programme is implemented with the support of Humane World for Animals and is an example of how, in times of hardship, assistance brings people together and fosters a sense of care and solidarity.
