The Ukrainian Red Cross responds to the aftermath of the attack in #Cherkasy

On Tuesday night, Cherkasy was struck twice. The team from the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross was working at the emergency sites to provide essential support to those affected. In particular, volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Cherkasy region provided first aid and psychological first aid to people affected by the attack.

During the night, volunteers and staff of the Ukrainian Red Cross arrived at the sites of the strikes and worked alongside other emergency services. Emergency repair materials for damaged homes are being provided, including OSB boards, plastic sheeting, tarpaulins, mounting foam, nails, and other essential items.

According to preliminary information from the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, nine people were injured and hospitalised. A further five people received assistance at the scene. An eight-year-old boy was killed. The blast wave damaged four apartment buildings.

At present, the Ukrainian Red Cross continues its work at the site of the morning strike in Cherkasy. The distribution of emergency shelter materials is ongoing, including OSB boards, plastic sheeting, tarpaulins, expanding foam, and nails. A Ukrainian Red Cross support point is operating on site, where those affected can receive psychological support and hot drinks.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the attack also damaged six residential buildings and outbuildings, and destroyed vehicles. Four people were reported injured.

The Ukrainian Red Cross continues to stand alongside those in need of support.
