Educators from the Kyiv region participated in training on International Humanitarian Law
With the support of the Ukrainian Red Cross, educators from the Kyiv region participated in training sessions on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) held in Bila Tserkva at the Municipal Educational Institution of the Kyiv Regional Council “Kyiv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education.” The training was delivered by Anna Tishchenko, an IHL trainer and volunteer with the Ukrainian Red Cross.
On 25 March, as part of in-service teacher training, a practical session focused on the core principles and rules of IHL. Participants explored key provisions of the law, examined mechanisms for protecting civilians, and discussed approaches to teaching sensitive topics related to armed conflict in schools. They also reviewed methodologies for fostering students’ legal awareness and a sense of humanity.
On 26 March, the educational event “Synergy of Creativity: Art and History as a Unified Space in Times of War” brought together educators to promote the integration of art, history, and IHL into the learning process. Particular attention was given to IHL as a legal framework for protecting human dignity and cultural heritage during armed conflict.
