Video: Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade in Odesa
A year ago, a pioneering initiative took place in Krasnosilka, Odesa region — the establishment of a women’s volunteer fire brigade. The team now includes 12 women and is led by the head of the local community. All members have completed proper training and can respond to even large fires.
“Our volunteer brigade currently has 12 women. We have two fire trucks, two women are licensed to drive them, and we have plenty of equipment and excellent uniforms. All members are ready to help the community and show by example how rewarding this work is,” says Maryna Arkhirii, head of the women’s volunteer fire brigade in Krasnosilka.
