The Ukrainian Red Cross has provided 250 emergency kits and 85 convector heaters to families of children undergoing rehabilitation at the Kyiv City Centre for the Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities
Established in 2017, the Centre offers social services to children with special needs aged 2 to 18. It can accommodate up to 80 children daily for rehabilitation sessions, while specialised home learning programmes allow around 200 additional children each month to continue their therapy at home.
The Centre uses modern rehabilitation approaches and technologies, including sensory integration therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, kinesiotherapy, primary video analysis, and dynamic proprioceptive correction. Parents also have access to psychological counselling and free initial legal support.
The emergency kits will help families of children with disabilities to be better prepared for potential crises, while the convector heaters will create safe and comfortable environments for the children.
This support also extends to families of children receiving care at the Centre for Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Social Services for Children and Persons with Disabilities.
The Ukrainian Red Cross remains committed to supporting families of children with disabilities, ensuring they have access to the care, development opportunities, and assistance they need.
