Ukrainian Red Cross team evacuated older people from Kherson to safety
In one day, three crews of the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kherson region evacuated 11 people aged 64 to 88. Among them were people with reduced mobility and individuals with mental health conditions. The nearly 10-hour journey went smoothly, and everyone was brought to safety. Throughout the evacuation, volunteers cared for each person and provided psychological support.
The work of Ukrainian Red Cross staff and volunteers in Kherson carries daily risks. This is especially true for emergency response team volunteers, who operate around the clock in high-risk areas to help those most in need.
We stand by those in need.
