Cash assistance for evacuees from the Zaporizhzhia region: support provided to over 1,000 people
Due to the deterioration of the security situation and shifts in the frontline, more people are being forced to leave their homes. Evacuations from frontline communities in the Zaporizhzhia region continue to rise, leaving many families without safe accommodation or means of livelihood.
From 14 to 29 January 2026, the Ukrainian Red Cross team conducted registration for cash assistance at the transit centre in the city of Zaporizhzhia for evacuees from the region.
During this period, 600 households — comprising 1,071 individuals — received cash support, with a total value of UAH 11,566,800.
The assistance helps civilians meet their immediate needs during evacuation and the initial period after relocation, including accommodation, food, medicines, and other essential expenses.
The project is implemented with the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
