Ukrainian Red Cross honours finalists of the “Teacher of the Year – 2026” competition in Civic Education

The final stage of the first round of the All-Ukrainian “Teacher of the Year” competition in the Civic Education category took place in Bila Tserkva at the Kyiv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Education of Pedagogical Staff. As part of the event, the Ukrainian Red Cross organised information sessions on international humanitarian law and the protection of the Red Cross emblem, along with an award ceremony for the finalists.

Civic education in schools aims to develop the knowledge, abilities, skills, and civic competencies required for life in a democratic state. Teaching is delivered through the introduction of dedicated subjects, including courses on the fundamentals of international humanitarian law. The Ukrainian Red Cross provides ongoing support to Ukrainian educators and raises awareness of the significance of the Red Cross emblem and the need to protect it from misuse.
