Chernihiv: The Ukrainian Red Cross is providing assistance at the site of a strike on a residential building

In Chernihiv, the emergency response team, together with volunteers from the Chernihiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, is working at the site of a strike on a five-storey residential building. In coordination with other emergency and specialised municipal services, they are providing the necessary assistance to those affected.

Volunteers have set up a Ukrainian Red Cross assistance point, where residents of the damaged building can warm up and receive first aid and psychological support. Emergency relief kits are also being distributed, along with OSB boards and tarpaulins to enable temporary repairs to damaged homes.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, one person was killed and six others were injured as a result of a Russian UAV strike on the five-storey residential building in Chernihiv. The building sustained damage between the second and fourth floors, and a fire broke out. Firefighting operations and debris clearance are ongoing.

Emergency response and recovery measures are under way.
