Regular awareness sessions on infectious disease prevention are held for children in the Ternopil region by the Ukrainian Red Cross
At Staryi Vyshnivets Lyceum, a health promotion and disease prevention session was held for 9th-grade students. During the session, participants learned about:
- what HIV and AIDS are;
- how these diseases are transmitted;
- methods of prevention;
- the importance of showing tolerance towards people living with HIV and AIDS.
The event was conducted in an open dialogue format. Pupils asked questions, took part in mini-discussions, and actively interacted with one another.
Raising awareness about such diseases, especially those that can be asymptomatic, is crucial. The team works to increase children’s understanding of responsible health practices and to promote a culture of healthy living. This initiative is implemented in the Ternopil region with the support of the Norwegian Red Cross.
