The Ukrainian Red Cross launches a nationwide programme of community meetings for veterans
A new programme initiated by the Ukrainian Red Cross has been launched to support veterans and help them return to active civilian life. The first meetings have already taken place in Khmelnytskyi — and this is only the beginning of a large-scale initiative that will soon reach communities across the country.
These are not formal lectures or simple events. Above all, they provide a space for trust, dialogue and recovery, where every veteran can receive information, support, and a genuine sense that their journey matters.
During the meetings, participants discussed key issues, including:
- how to re-engage in community life and identify new opportunities;
- legal, social and psychological aspects of life after service;
- tools for planning the future and building new professional pathways;
- local initiatives that help veterans integrate into community life.
A separate focus was placed on discussing veterans’ involvement in voluntary fire brigades. The skills, resilience and leadership gained during service can play a vital role in rescue operations and in supporting communities during peacetime.
We are grateful to every veteran who participates, shares their experience and takes a step towards positive change.
Together — for recovery, development and a better future.утнього.
