World Humanitarian Day
World Humanitarian Day, marked on 19 August, honours those who risk their lives to help others in the most challenging circumstances. It is a day about courage, dedication, and the power of humanity.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian Red Cross has supported more than 13 million people across Ukraine. Our volunteers and staff continue their work every day — in frontline communities and throughout the country — even under shelling and constant threat.
Today, we express our deepest gratitude to every volunteer and staff member of the Ukrainian Red Cross, to our partners within the Movement, and to our colleagues from other humanitarian organisations. Your work saves lives.
Together, we prove that compassion and humanity know no borders.
