Training for Instructors of the School Safety Sessions Project

Training for Instructors of the School Safety Sessions Project

From 21 to 24 July, the Disaster Management Department of the Ukrainian Red Cross organised a training session in Vinnytsia for instructors involved in the School Safety Sessions project. The project aims to promote a culture of safe behaviour in schools and encourage a responsible approach to safety among children and young people.

Over the course of four days, Ukrainian Red Cross specialists and volunteers developed tools for delivering interactive safety lessons. Particular focus was given to practical skills, facilitation methods, and approaches to working with children and teenagers.

Representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine also took part in the training. Emergency service staff covered topics such as fire safety, how to stay safe around water throughout the year, and what to do during air raid alerts. The police contributed by discussing internet safety, road safety, and everyday personal security.

The project is being implemented in the Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Kirovohrad regions with the support of the British Red Cross.
