A Safety and Education Hub Opens in Cherkasy
The Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, in collaboration with emergency workers from the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Cherkasy region, has created a unique space where children, adults, and families can learn how to stay safe during emergencies.
The well-equipped space is located at the fire station, in a shelter that allows training to continue even during air raids. In this environment, participants will not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also gain practical experience.
Visitors to the hub will be able to learn more about:
- Emergency response – preparing for emergencies, understanding the actions to take during crises, knowing what to include in emergency and personal first aid kits, and learning what to do during air raids, shelling, and other emergency situations.
- First aid – how to respond in emergency situations.
- Fire safety – prevention and response strategies.
- Mine risk – how to recognise dangerous objects and what actions to take if they are found.
- Psychosocial support – managing stress and anxiety.
Thanks to this training facility, children, students, local business employees, and others will be able to receive training on mine risk, first aid, preparation for possible emergencies, and other important topics related to emergency response.
This space was opened with the support of the Canadian Red Cross. Together, we make our communities safer and more aware!
