Information Session on Mine Risk for Children Held in Tuchyn Village, Rivne Region
Mine risk specialists from the Ukrainian Red Cross continue their important mission to educate children about the dangers of explosive hazards.
On 12 March, volunteers visited pupils in grades 1–4 at the Special School in Tuchyn village, Rivne region, to conduct an informational session on the risks of explosive ordnance and safer behaviour. Understanding how crucial it is to communicate complex topics to children, we used games and interactive learning methods.
The children learned:
- What explosive objects look like.
- Which areas are potentially dangerous.
- What signs indicate danger.
We did not just talk about the risks; we also used visuals to help the children retain the information. At the end of the session, each pupil received a useful gift – a reminder that simple rules can save lives.
Our children are our future, and we must do everything we can to ensure they grow up in safety.
