A newly renovated Infectious Diseases Unit has officially opened at the Tsarychanka Central District Hospital in the Dnipro region
The hospital serves local residents and comprises eight departments, one of which has been refurbished. As part of this initiative, the unit’s premises were fully renovated, and the hospital’s façade was updated. Additionally, new essential medical equipment and furniture were supplied to the unit’s wards. The medical facility is now equipped to provide modern and comfortable conditions for patients.
“In collaboration with our international partners, we are proud to open the renovated Infectious Diseases Unit at the Tsarychanka Central District Hospital, which offers excellent healthcare facilities to residents of four communities: Tsarychanka, Mohyliv, Kytaihorod, and Liashkivka. This hospital also serves internally displaced persons from the Donetsk region. By working together, we aim to improve the comfort of patients during their stay at the hospital,” said Liudmyla Lashko, head of the Dnipro regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
The organisation expressed its gratitude to the Luxembourg Red Cross team for their invaluable support for the residents of the Dnipro region.
Gulnamo Khudobakhshova, Head of Mission at the Luxembourg Red Cross:
“Since 2022, we have repaired more than 15 hospitals, two Ukrainian Red Cross offices, and 80 private homes in the Dnipro region. This year, we plan to repair one rehabilitation centre, three hospitals, and 100 additional homes. The renovation of the Tsarychanka Hospital was particularly important due to its geographical location and transport links to the community, which has hosted around 5,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The hospital has been completely renovated, and new essential medical furniture and equipment worth over UAH 12,000,000 have been provided. The Luxembourg Red Cross will continue to support the provision of housing and the improvement of healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that Ukrainians have access to quality healthcare services”.
