“All the aid we get is essential”: Kherson residents on humanitarian aid from the World Food Programme and the Ukrainian Red Cross
“The food parcels help us a lot,” says local resident Vira. “I use everything: oil and cereals. I live alone, and these provisions are enough for a month. I have been living in Kherson throughout the war and survived the occupation. I rarely go out now. I’m afraid of shelling, but back then, I was afraid of encountering the occupiers. I try to go shopping less frequently. I go when I need to buy beetroot and onions. It’s scary. There were explosions here and there in our yard. This aid allows us to stay at home with enough food during the shelling. So thank you for everything you’re doing.”
Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross work in Kherson daily to distribute humanitarian aid from the World Food Programme. They assist older adults aged 60 and over, as well as people with disabilities, in receiving food parcels at designated locations. Thanks to the dedication of the volunteers, this assistance reaches those who need it most in a timely manner.
We thank our partners and continue our work for the people of Kherson.
