In 2024, nearly two thousand people completed psychological first aid training organised by the Ukrainian Red Cross
As part of the EU4Health project, implemented by the European Commission, the Ukrainian Red Cross has carried out large-scale educational efforts on mental health and psychosocial support:
- 75 training sessions on psychological first aid (PFA) for social workers, healthcare professionals, teachers, and youth, with over 1,000 participants.
- 56 psychological first aid training sessions for mobile health units and emergency response teams, including home-based care specialists, with a total of 856 participants.
- 32 training sessions for volunteers and staff of the Ukrainian Red Cross on self-care and psychosocial support in communities, with 407 participants.
These are just some of the results that have been achieved within the project. In addition:
- More than 39,000 people participated in basic psychosocial support activities.
- 179 focused psychosocial and mental health support events were held, engaging nearly 2,000 participants.
- 131 events were organised to support Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers and staff, involving over 1,000 people.
In the new year, we continue to overcome today’s challenges and, with the help of our partners, work towards building a society where help and support are available to everyone.
