Month of Ukrainian Red Cross Society

 

  From April, 4-th, till May, 4-th, 2010, Ukrainian Red Cross Society conducts "Red Cross Month" with the aim to support veterans of the Great Patriotic war.

 

 

In order to improve the living conditions and social protection of the most vulnerable people, in 2001 the Presidium of Ukrainian Red Cross Society established a conduct of the annual Red Cross Month, during which the Ukrainian Red Cross Society organizations provide raising and delivering financial and humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable people in Ukraine.

 

Only in 2009, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society raised financial aid to the total amount of 12 481 786 UAH and provided assistance to the total amount of 7 144 481 UAH.

 

In 2010, Ukraine celebrates the 65th Anniversary since the Great Patriotic war Victory Day. In connection with this, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society holds this year Red Cross Month under the slogan "Feat of Your Life".

 

We appreciate for the valuable contribution of such people; those participated in a fight in the name of the Victory. They were risking by their own lives and health. In such a way we would like to express our gratitude for every day of victory in their lives and treat with respect to all participants of our national fight for freedom, heroism and strong spirit, which have made the possibility for us to live in a free country today.

 

Also, in the biggest cities of Ukraine the charity event "Victory Day with Skype" is planned to be conducted with the cooperation of 'Skype' representative office in Ukraine and Privatbank. During this event pensioners, war veterans and other vulnerable categories of people will have an opportunity to communicate for free with their relatives, friends and other veterans living in any city of Ukraine or abroad.

 

Every day the number of people that survived at those terrible times and had a tragic fate to be victims of war is decreasing. This generation of our grandparents and parents that survived at wars and famines, needs for our support today.

 

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society appeals to you to participate actively in the "Red Cross Month" and provide all possible assistance to support those that fought for our freedom through their pain and efforts.

 

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society relies on You and, taking into account more than 90 years of humanitarian work experience, ensures that the assistance will be reached, particularly, to those people whose really need it.
